Earning a Microsoft competency involves two main pillars: meeting performance-based revenue targets and demonstrating your team's technical skills through certification exams. The specific thresholds for each pillar vary between the Silver and Gold levels.
Your company must first meet certain revenue thresholds within a trailing twelve-month period. These figures are based on your Cloud Revenue from the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan, its related applications, and the Dynamics 365 Enterprise Team Member.
It's important to note how customer acquisition is credited. All customers acquired before March 29, 2019, are counted via Digital Partner of Record association. Any new customers acquired after that date must be associated with your organization through the incentives claims process.
The first step on the certification journey for your team is the mandatory core exam. The number of certified individuals required depends on the competency level you are targeting.
This core requirement is met by passing: Exam MB-200: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Core. The link is the same for both Silver (Exam MB-200) and Gold paths.
After completing the core exam, the same group of individuals must each pass one of the following functional specialization exams. This allows your team to demonstrate expertise in a specific area of Customer Engagement.

Finally, a subset of your certified team must pass a technical exam to prove their capabilities in customization and configuration. This demonstrates a deeper level of expertise within your organization.
