Achieving official Microsoft Partner status for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations offers a significant competitive advantage. It signals deep expertise and a high level of commitment to clients. But reaching the Silver and Gold competency levels requires meeting a specific set of performance and personnel certification benchmarks. This guide outlines the precise requirements for each tier to help you map your organization’s path to success.

Foundational Pillars for Microsoft Competency

Microsoft evaluates its partners across two primary areas: demonstrated business performance through revenue, and proven technical expertise through employee certifications. Success in both is mandatory to earn a competency.

The Path to Silver Competency

The Silver level is the first major milestone, demonstrating a solid foundation in the Dynamics 365 ecosystem. To achieve it, your company must meet both revenue and team skill requirements.

Performance and Revenue Thresholds (Silver)

Your organization must meet one of the following cloud revenue benchmarks from Dynamics 365 Enterprise Plan, Unified Operations Plan, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Retail, Talent, or Team Members:

• At least US $100,000
• OR at least US $50,000

Personnel Certification Requirements (Silver)

A minimum of five individuals on your team must complete the following exam sequence:

1. Core Exam: All five individuals must pass Exam MB-300: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations Core.
2. Functional Exam: The same five individuals must also pass ONE of the following functional exams:
   • Exam MB-310: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Financials
   • Exam MB-320: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Manufacturing
   • Exam MB-330: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Supply Chain Management
   • Exam MB6-898: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Talent
3. Technical Exam: Finally, two of those five individuals must pass the technical exam:
   • Exam MB6-894: Development, Extensions and Deployment for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition

Advancing to Gold Competency

The Gold competency signifies the highest level of partnership and expertise. The requirements are more rigorous, demanding greater revenue performance and a larger team of certified professionals.

Performance and Revenue Thresholds (Gold)

To qualify for Gold, your company must meet one of these higher cloud revenue targets:

• At least US $300,000
• OR at least US $150,000

Personnel Certification Requirements (Gold)

A total of fifteen individuals on your team must successfully pass the required exams:

1. Core Exam: All fifteen people must pass Exam MB-300: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations Core.
2. Functional Exam: The same fifteen individuals must also each pass ONE of these functional specialty exams:
   • Exam MB-310: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Financials
   • Exam MB-320: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Manufacturing
   • Exam MB-330: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Supply Chain Management
   • Exam MB6-897: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail
   • Exam MB6-898: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Talent
3. Technical Exam: From that group, five of the fifteen individuals must pass the technical exam:
   • Exam MB6-894: Development, Extensions and Deployment for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition

Important Administrative Notes

When pursuing these competencies, be aware of the following rules regarding customer association and exam validity.

• Customer Association: All customers acquired before March 29, 2019, are credited toward competency via the Digital Partner of Record (DPOR) association. Any new customers acquired on or after that date must be associated through the incentives claims process to be counted.
• Exam Validity: Please note that the retired exams MB6-895 and MB6-896 remained valid for competency attainment until August 31, 2020.
