After completing your intensive training from home, the final step is certification. Your Readynez course package includes an exam voucher and our certification guarantee, giving you the flexibility to take your test when and where you feel most prepared. This isn’t just a convenient and safe way to get certified; it puts you in control of your timeline.
But how does the online proctored process work from start to finish? This guide provides a clear roadmap to help you schedule and sit your exam with total confidence.
Before you even think about scheduling, a few key preparations are essential. First, confirm you have administrator rights on the computer you’ll use, as you must download specific testing software. It is also important to note that all proctoring software, greeter interactions, and proctor support are currently conducted in English.
To ensure you're ready, complete these critical pre-flight checks:
As part of your Readynez course, your Microsoft exam is already paid for. You will receive an email from operations@readynez.com containing a unique voucher code. This code will function as your payment method during the registration process, so keep an eye out for it during your course week.
Once you have your voucher, head to the Microsoft exam list to find your specific test. Click the "Schedule exam" button, and if online proctoring is offered in your country, you'll be able to select that option. The vast majority of Microsoft role-based and fundamentals exams can be taken online. The main exceptions are Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and MTA exams.
The entire check-in procedure typically takes about 15 minutes. Remember to disable any pop-up blockers on your browser before you begin.
Starting Your Session
You can begin the process up to 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. To start, log in to your Microsoft benefits and exam dashboard. Navigate to the "Appointments" section, where you will find a link to "Start a previously scheduled online proctored exam." This will redirect you to Pearson VUE to begin.
Connecting with the Proctor
You will be connected to a "greeter" who verifies your identity and walks you through the rules. Have your passport, driver’s license, or other approved ID ready. The greeter will ask you to close all non-essential applications and will review the testing protocols with you. All communication will be in English. Once this verification is complete, your exam will start. A proctor will monitor you but will not intervene unless an issue arises.
If a technical problem occurs, the proctor will try to contact you via the chat function first, followed by a phone call if necessary. Should you need to report an issue after the exam, contact Pearson VUE customer service with the Incident Report number the proctor provides.
For a visual overview of the process, Microsoft offers a helpful YouTube playlist with videos in English and with subtitles in several other languages. These videos demonstrate just how straightforward taking an online exam can be.
